One of those being that the students writing their own script can help them express themselves and show who they really are. I have always found that writing for me is the best way to express myself. Another thing we agree on is the definite use of podcasting in our classroom. I plan on recording and posting every lesson that I teach, maybe give my students extra credit if they re-watch it before they do their homework that night at their house. I did notice all of the comma mistakes, and I looked for one that Doctor Strange might have missed and I could not find one. I surely and sincerely enjoyed reading your post. Good Luck with your future career.Brelyn Searcyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09032874656074688775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8512474290700951521.post-26150525280706497902012-09-26T08:14:12.044-05:002012-09-26T08:14:12.044-05:00"This website showed me how much, putting a p..."This website showed me how much, putting a podcast together, helps you comprehend new material. " Remove comma.

"Making the videos, in the classroom, lets every student be involved. " The two comas in this sentence are improperly used. When used they imply that they are non-restrictive, i.e. that they do not restrict the meaning. In this case in the classroom is restrictive since that is what you are discussing. If you were considering the utility of making videos outside the classroom you could not contend that the process "lets every student be involved." You need a lesson in commas. Consult a book line Elements of Style.

"It is also really awesome, if you are learning a foreign language." Remove comma.

"The website says you have to hear a new vocabulary word, at least 70 times, before comprehending it." Remove comma.

"That really amazes me, but creating podcast and saying new words repeatedly ..." Comma appropriate here. Podcast should be podcasts since it is plural. Or put an a before podcast and leave it singular.

"The teacher mixes the audio clips up, and makes the students edit it." Makes is a bit harsh. Why not this: The teacher mixes the audio clips. The students then edit them.? If you do not separate into two sentences the comma should not be used.

"This makes students sound the words out, and make sure..." Use makes in both places. Comma unnecessary.

"Doing these podcast, helps students understand the new material, and remember how to pronounce the words, from having to say it aloud." No commas. Podcasts not podcast.

OK enough on commas. Take a lesson or find out how and when to use commas. Go to the Writing Lab (Alpha East) for help. And I will stop my corrections of the plural form of podcast which is podcasts. You should use podcast and podcasts appropriately.

"...podcast, in their ..." No comma. I think you mean definitely.

Your content was OK but all those extra commas really got to me. Learn how to use commas properly.

John Hadley Strangehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17484977903995419205noreply@blogger.com
